Greater Trail not yet ready for centralized organics collection:RDKB

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary needs a composting facility in the East End before an organics diversion project is set up for nearby communities.

So says GM of Environmental Services Allan Stanley as the RDKB continues to expand the green bin initiative that started as a pilot project in Grand Forks in 2012.

After being recognized as a success, it was expanded into Boundary Area D this month and could be set up in the Christina Lake area as soon as March.

Stanley hopes a composting facility could be up in the East End (Greater Trail area) by next year.
