Local schools to open Monday

Schools in the Kootenay Lake district will re-open for class on Monday – but only for a half day.

Tuesday will be the first full day back.

Kootenay Columbia schools start with a full-day Monday.

Both districts have a Pro D Day for teachers Friday so no school then.

Paul Boscariol – the President of the Nelson and District Teachers Association – says like any other profession seeking to develop its people that day is important.


Boscariol thinks there will be a strong bond between teachers and students on opening day but admits the relationship with administrators may require some time.
