Rossland makes opening move on Trail bridge negotiations

We now know Rossland’s opening negotiation position regarding a regional pedestrian and sewer pipe across the Columbia.

Mayor Greg Granstrom calls Trail’s proposal for a fixed price of $5.4 million “out of line.”

Instead he says if a pipe under the existing Victoria Street bridge would cost just $2.7 million then that’s the amount the three sewer partners – which includes Warfield- should allocate to an aerial crossing.


Trail alone would then have to spend the extra so the bridge can accommodate a pedestrian element.

That could be another $2.7 million to almost $5 million.
