No new regional sewer battle: Rossland mayor

The mayor of Rossland doesn’t think there’ll be another sewer battle with Trail …this time regarding a new crossing over the Columbia River.

Only last year the two cities and Warfield finally closed the book on years of squabbling about shared sewer costs.

Mayor Greg Grantrom says a bridge could cost $7.5 million while hanging pipe from the Victoria St bridge for example could cost $3.4 million.

Quotes often don’t match actual costs and Trail’s regional rep says they may offer Rossland and Warfield a fixed price and take over the whole project.

Granstrom isn’t commenting on that.

Negotiations will likely start next week.
