Military exercises set to start near Trail

The Trail area will host about 450 reserve soldiers from around BC over the next week.

They’re taking part in annual training exercises which this year have been dubbed “Kootenay Cougar.”

Lieutenant colonel Nigel Whittaker of 39 Canadian Brigade Group is the Exercise Commander.

Whittaker says you probably won’t see the exercises themselves as they’ll be held in outlying areas.

But you will hear their helicopters.
