With just over a year to go to the opening of Nelson’s restored rail station a local city councillor figures the building itself will become an attraction.
Paula Kiss -who owns a green building business- figures the methods and materials used on the plus 100-year-old structure will be a draw card.
Unique un-fired clay bricks were used internally and original window frames restored by specialist crafts people.
The old CP rail station will become a regional visitor gateway late next year.
But Kiss would also like the Chamber of Commerce to use it to showcase a building style that she’d like to see used across town.
