July was a scorcher

Last month was the warmest July locally since 2007.

This from the South East Fire Centre weather office.

The average temperature was 2.5 C warmer than normal.

There was only 23% of the total average rainfall.

The hottest day was 38.8 C and a daily record was set on the 16th with a high of 37.3 C.

23 of the 31 days in July had the maximum temperature surpass 30 C
