Castlegar’s $1.6 million Millenium Ponds project was formally opened to the public Monday.
Well over a thousand people flocked to the park to take in the natural swimming area.
As mayor Lawrence Chernoff explains the community asked for the facility and the city delivered.

The three ponds are fed by the Columbia River and are varying depths to suit all ages …and they’ve received the stamp of approval from the public.
