Selkirk College gets trades seats boost

Selkirk College is among the BC institutions getting funding for additional training spaces.

It’s to increase access and help reduce wait lists for trades critical to the liquified
natural gas (LNG) and other industries.

Selkirk’s Silver King Campus in Nelson will get most of the 54 extra seats ..some of them available as early as September.

There will be 18 additional welder foundation seats, 16 electrician foundation seats and 20 carpenter apprenticeship seats.

4 of those will go to Nakusp.
