She hopes the ministry will upgrade its specifications when renewing contracts for its highways contractors.
She adds residents should keep reporting any incidents or conditions to the ministry or its contractors.
Heaton-Sherstobitoff hopes to see more specifications about response time and ice removal in the new contracts.
The ministry says all contractors are monitored closely and audited often throughout the year.
They add local contractors Emcon and YRB have been meeting their contracted obligations.
