Castlegar food bank preparing for busy season

Castlegar’s Community Harvest Food Bank is getting set for the holiday season.

They have a few big events coming up to bring in donations.

Those being the Miracle Marathon December 9 at Safeway, a partnership with 99.3 The Goat.

The other is December 12 when the CP Rail Holiday Train rolls into town.

Director Deb McIntosh says these events tend to bring out the community’s generosity.

McIntosh adds donations don’t necessarily need to be food.

Donations can also be dropped off at St. David’s Anglican Church, the Kootenay Gallery, Fireside Inn and food can be left at City Hall.
