Communities fighting is costing taxpayers millions: Trail Councillor

Continuous fighting between communities in the Greater Trail Area has cost Silver City taxpayers millions of dollars in recent years.
So says City Councillor Sean Mackinlay, who was unsuccessful this week in getting Council’s support for a financial review.

MacKinlay says it needs to be recognized how much time, energy and capital has been spent on issues amongst municipalities in the region.

Mackinlay argues until a new form of Municipal government is created for the Lower Columbia region – Trail will continue to waste money on resolving issues that shouldn’t exist in the first place.
