A developer is looking into building a medical marijuana production facility near Castlegar’s airport.
The City of Castlegar gave two readings for a zoning bylaw amendment to allow construction of the facility.
Director of development services Phil Markin says the proposed site would be the only conceivable location for it.
There will be a public hearing regarding the proposed facility and the zoning amendment must also be approved by Area J.
It would be strictly for production of medical cannabis, not distribution.
