What’s with the Ministry of Transportation painting only part of each cross walk on our local major routes?
In Nelson for example new line markings have been done but all the pedestrian crossings on Nelson Ave and Vernon are only half done.
District Highways Manager Hugh Eberle says it’s about cost-savings.
Eberle says the majority of the cross walk bars still need to be painted – but not all – and they are within safe standards.
But if anyone has any concerns they can contact the highways office.
