A Somali refugee family of eight from Kenya are getting settled into their new home in New Denver.
The Slocan Valley Refugee Coalition helped bring in the Akubars.
The coalition’s Eleanor Spengler says their long trip started with a 10 hour flight from Nairobi to Frankfurt.
They finally made it to the West Kootenay last Thursday.
Spengler says they’re settling in very nicely.
