A water ambassador is on patrol in Castlegar this summer.
Laura Smit is travelling through the city’s neighbourhood offering free lawn and garden watering assessments.
Smit – who graduated from Selkirk College’s Recreation, Fish and Wildlife program – says there is also a by law education project taking place in the city this summer.
Smit says residents are familiar with the program and receptive to her advice.
She adds its a good idea that Castlegar will be implementing a universal water metering program next year.
The city has an alternating day watering schedule for residents.
