New charge laid in Canadian Tire heist

A woman arrested after a gun heist from Canadian Tire in Trail this summer is now facing a different charge.

Dori Ann Swanson will stand trial March 13 on one count of obstructing a police officer.

She originally faced a series of weapons-related offences plus possession of stolen property.

Her co-accused, James Duncan Beetstra and Dustin Paul Zier, both return to court Dec. 6.

Zier is expected to choose whether to be tried by judge and jury or judge alone.

The trio were arrested in Nelson a day after 15 guns were stolen from the store.

Zier is in custody but Swanson and Beetstra are out on bail.
