Sister City relationship reaches milestone

The prosperous sister City relationship between Castlegar and Embetsu, Japan will hit a milestone this summer.

Eight delegates from the Japanese community will visit next month to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the relationship.

Here’s Councillor Dan Rye.

Rye says they will celebrate the visit with a couple of formal events.

It is also expected the 1 point 2 million dollar Millennium Ponds Project will open the weekend of July 25th – when Embetsu delegates are set to arrive.

A group of eight Castlegar students will be travelling to Japan this summer as well part of the student exchange agreement between the Sister Cities.
