Castlegar seeks provincial funding for airport upgrades

Upgrades to the West Kootenay Regional Airport Terminal are part and parcel with solving the facility’s reliability issues.

Castlegar city councilor Florio Vassilakakis says the city is taking a proactive approach to seeking funds to help with improvements.

They have applied for $500,000 in rural dividend funds from the BC Government.

The terminal upgrades are estimated to cost $4.2 million.

Some of that money would come from the CBT and airport reserves.
