Castlegar City Council will be drafting plans for pilot projects to allow backyard chickens and beekeeping.
Councilor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff says they will look into all possible regulations to ensure minimal disturbance to residents.
Heaton-Sherstobitoff says this will help Castlegar be more sustainable.
She adds the steps the city has taken towards being a bear-aware community could make the pilot project a lot easier to implement.
