Let the bees buzz in Trail!
Mayor Mike Martin says the city will change it’s animal control bylaw which prohibits backyard beekeeping.
The decision comes after a presentation to city council in July from Axel Krause, a bee inspector with the Ministry Of Agriculture.
There will be restrictions to ensure the insects don’t pester the neighbors of those with hives and to reduce the potential of swarming.
Anyone keeping bees in BC must register with the ministry.
