The Trail Smoke Eaters and the West Kelowna Warriors split a home and home series to open their BCHL regular season schedules.
The Smokies fell 3-1 Friday in Kelowna.
But they turned the tables on the defending BCHL champions Saturday in Trail with an impressive 8-5 win.
Newcomer Tyson Slater had two goals and an assist in Saturday’s victory.
The win was the first for Cam Keith as the new Smoke Eaters coach.
Their next game is Friday.
