Teck Resources in Trail can’t be held liable for historic air pollution in Washington State.
This from Senior Communications Specialist Chris Stannell who is speaking to a ruling handed down by the US Court Of Appeals.
Teck is currently reviewing the ruling’s implications.
Stannell says Teck has invested more than $1.5 billion dollars to modernize the facility.
He adds there has been a 95% decrease in emissions of metals to air and water since the mid 1990’s.
