Lone Trail councillor opposes AAP for boundary expansion

One Trail City councillor hopes people will come to their senses and stop talking about boundary expansion and start talking about amalgamation.

Gord DeRosa was the lone vote against an Alternate Approval Process to gain support of the Silver City electors to obtain the Columbia Gardens area.

DeRosa says they would be a stronger community if they just made one large municipal district instead of picking and choosing what jurisdictions they do and don’t want.

 

DeRosa also expressed concerns about the lack of collaboration with the Beaver Valley through this process and the resulting reduced tax implications for Teck.
