Town relaunches OCP

The Official Community Plan process is back on at Creston Town Hall.

A fresh approach to the OCP process following almost a one year hiatus after staff and consulting team changes.

But Manager Lou Varela says they will draw from previous information.

The town has hired Kootenay Employment Services for the public engagement component, and a specialized consulting team for the policy development.

The OCP will be passed as a bylaw and is paid for through gas tax funds and operational surplus.
