A volunteer run Kootenay Lake area harbour society’s push for repair funding has seen a financial boost.
The Kuskanook Harbour Society is gunning for a CBT Recreation Infrastructure Grant but is $50, 000 short of it’s required 30 % portion.
RDCK Area A Director Darry Jackman says he and Area B will kick in $20, 000 and Area C will give $10, 000.
Jackman says the port on the East Shore of Kootenay Lake is used by many.
The harbour’s wooden breakwater has been damaged by fluctuating water levels.
Total cost of repairs is just over $400, 000
