The heavy rainfall and unusual temperatures for this time of the year are indicative of an El Nino pattern.

The summit on Kootenay Pass was at 2 degrees celcius and they had over 50mm of rain Tuesday into Wednesday.
Unfortunately Lakeman can’t answer the golden question as to if we’re getting a snowy rather than rainy winter.
