Extension sought for Rossland skate park

Rossland skateboarders will have to wait another two years for the long-awaited project to happen.

The local association has been fund raising but won’t make a deadline for construction this year.

Board member Aaron Cosbey says they’ve asked council for a two year extension on the corner of the Emcon lot.

He says having the Spectrum Skateparks design signed off is important.

 

They’ve raised or have a commitment for about $140,000 plus $200,000 in in-kind contributions.

But that still leaves the association $260,000 short.
