Explaining local changes at Canada Post

Canada Post is giving their rationale for moving the collection of so-called carded or “call-for” items away from their downtown post office branch.

The Crown Corporation says the dealer outlets at Shoppers Drugmart and Johnny’s Grocery in Robson offer later and weekend hours.

From May 12th items that require a signature will be held at one of those sites depending on your address.

The Union Local calls the move an outrage and suggests customers are being deliberately diverted away to further reduce staff and eliminate the corporate retail office.

The Post Office now opens half an hour later at 9am because Canada Post says they hardly had any traffic at all before then.
