Robbery suspect's bail hearing postponed

The man accused in two armed robberies in Nelson will spend at least another week in jail.

Andrew Stevenson was supposed to have a bail hearing Monday, but it’s been delayed until May 13th.

He’s charged with robbing the Kootenay Currency Exchange and Nelson Credit Union at gunpoint.

He wasn’t in court, but his lawyer appeared by phone to ask for the adjournment.

Ken Wyllie wants more time to examine the Crown’s evidence.

He also said his client – who was injured while being arrested – is on crutches.
