Council approves Red Mountain hotel development

Rossland City Council has approved the development permit for a hotel at Red Mountain.

The proposal is for a 107 suite hotel with restaurant, spa and meeting rooms.

It would be built at the existing drop-off area and upper parking lot between the Lodge and Slalom Creek development.

The Texas-based developer does not want to speak to his plans just yet, but Mayor Greg Granstrom says it’s positive news.

The proponent says the new hotel will employ 103 employees, 39 of them full time.
