NPD explains need for bomb squad

Nelson Police are explaining why the RCMP bomb squad was brought in to handle the threat at the court house Monday evening.

Sgt Paul Bayes says the court received a call early afternoon claiming a bomb had been planted.

After an evacuation Nelson Police,Sheriffs and RCMP took a look.

 

The hoax came after a court appearance of the couple charged in the Nelson armed robbery but Bayes says there is nothing at this stage to suggest a link there.

He says the focus of their investigation is broad but there are various techniques they can use to narrow that.
