UPDATE: Bomb squad to check over Nelson Court building

An RCMP bomb squad brought in from out of the area was expected to check over the Nelson Court House Monday evening.

Earlier in the afternoon the site and the neighbouring city hall white building were evacuated and staff told they would not be able to return by the end of the work day.

There has been no official statement from Nelson Police or the Fire Dept.

The area has been cordoned off to pedestrians although traffic is still flowing.
