Trail bridge lighting project fundraising underway

Trail’s Downtown Opportunities and Action Committee has raised a quarter of their goal for an elaborate lighting project for the Silver City Bridge.

The 224 L-E-D light initiative has a price tag of 400 thousand dollars and committee is responsible for half of that.

Chair Mike Martin says the first chunk of money came through a donation from one company.

Martin says they plan to raise the rest through donations and believes CIMS move will encourage other businesses to jump on board.

Design and engineering plans are underway for next year’s project.
