Trail water project timeline extended

Residents of Shavers Bench, Miral Heights and Glenmerry will be supplied by the Trail’s Water Treatment plant for two and a half months longer than originally planned.

Staff completed work at the Beaver Creek Well that forced the initial shut down but discovered a need for an emergency fix to a water main.

This means all residents will still receive water from the main plant into the warmer months of May and June.

Utilities Superintendent Chris McIssac says it will be a concern if work goes past that time.

The initial upgrades to the pump house will allow for the Green Gables reservoir to go to full capacity.
