Slocan Valley project gets CBT enviro boost

Columbia Basin Trust Environment grants will help assess and map wetlands in the Slocan Valley.

$36,000 is going to the Slocan Solution Society who will continue their multi-year initiative to establish a community based monitoring program that holds data about wetlands and riparian habitat.

The society’s Richard Johnson says the money will be used this summer.

 

Johnson says they already have 120 wetlands in the data base.

The RDKB and the RDCK also received a combined $33,000 for restoration projects along the Columbia River.
