Sunshine, smiles and plenty of splashes made for a successful day as Kootenay Savings Credit Union’s annual barbecue and dunk tank fundraiser raised $2,900 in support of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Health Foundation’s Mental Health Matters campaign.
Community members turned out to enjoy lunch, take aim at the dunk tank and support local mental health care, with all proceeds from the event benefiting the campaign.
The fundraiser was held alongside the health foundation’s golf classic, with both events helping raise funds to strengthen mental health services across the region.
As the event’s signature sponsor, Kootenay Savings thanked everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and participated.
“The community once again showed its incredible generosity,” said Paul Butler, manager of the Kootenay Savings Community Foundation. “Every burger purchased, every dunk tank donation and every volunteer helped make a difference for local mental health care.”
