Are you registered to vote?

The next general local election is on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. Now is the time to make sure you’re registered and ready to vote.

If you’re new to British Columbia, have recently moved or changed your name, check that your voter registration is up to date.

Be ready to vote

Elections BC maintains the voters list used for municipal elections in British Columbia. You can register, update your information or confirm you’re already registered by visiting www.elections.bc.ca/ovr or by calling 1-800-661-8683.

Advance voter registration closes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026. If you’re not registered by then, you can still register when you vote if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Why register now?

Registering in advance helps ensure your information is current and makes voting quicker and easier on election day. It also helps you receive important election information before voting begins.

Strong communities are built through participation. Whether you’ve lived in your municipality for years or have recently joined the community, your voice matters. Make sure you’re ready to take part in shaping your community’s future.
