Smoke Eaters add forward Ty Izadi for 2026-27 season

The Trail Smoke Eaters have added forward Ty Izadi for the 2026-27 British Columbia Hockey League season.

The five-foot-11, 170-pound forward joins the Smoke Eaters after spending the past two seasons in the North American Hockey League.

Last season, the Long Beach, Calif., suited up for the Amarillo Wranglers, recording 15 goals and 19 assists in 46 games. During the 2024-25 campaign, he split time between the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks and Amarillo, finishing with 20 points on eight goals and 12 assists in 53 NAHL games.

Before moving to junior hockey, Izadi played in the Anaheim Jr. Ducks AAA program, where he developed into a consistent offensive contributor while competing against top players in the United States.

“We’re excited to welcome Ty and his family to Trail,” said Smoke Eaters general manager and head coach Eric Thurston.

“Ty is a hardworking, two-way forward who competes every shift and has played in a very demanding league. He brings speed, character and a relentless work ethic that fits exactly how we want to play. We believe there’s still plenty of upside in his game, and we’re looking forward to helping him continue his development.”

Izadi said he is looking forward to joining the organization.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such a respected organization,” said Izadi. “I’ve heard great things about the team, the fans and the community. I’m excited to get to Trail, meet my teammates and do everything I can to help the team compete for a championship.”

Season ticket memberships for the 2026-27 season are now available.
