Search of Slocan River finds no sign of reported body

An extensive search of the Slocan River has turned up no evidence after a report of what appeared to be a human body floating in the water.

Nelson RCMP said it received the report around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday from a concerned citizen who believed they had seen a body in the river between Slocan Park and Passmore about an hour earlier.

Police, search and rescue crews and local fire departments searched the area, but did not located a body or any other evidence.

No one has been reported missing in the area.

Anyone who witnessed anything unusual along the Slocan River on July 7, or has information related to the incident is asked to contact Nelson RCMP at 250-352-2156.
