Trail area shivers past old mark with record cool June morning

Residents of the Trail area got an unseasonably chilly wakeup call Monday as temperatures dipped low enough to set a new daily minimum temperature record.

Environment Canada said the Warfield RCS weather station recorded a preliminary low of 3.7 C on June 8, breaking the previous record of 4.0 C set in 1982.

Records for the area have been kept since 1928.

The new mark may leave some residents wondering whether summer missed its exit.
