Nelson rec plans to be laid out next week

Residents will get to see the bigger plans for recreation in Nelson next week.

The masterplan will be presented at various open houses across the RDCK.

Chair of the District Rec Commission Ramona Faust says among the planning will be how best to use the RD and City owned facilities in and around the arena.

A long term vision is to have a so-called recreation campus that physically links all the various indoor sites.

Community feedback so far has also focused on enhanced cycling and walking trails.

But the $4.5 million Aquatic Centre upgrade remains the immediate priority.
