Trail to begin sanitary sewer system spot repairs

The City of Trail is preparing for a series of sanitary sewer system spot repairs as part of its ongoing trenchless rehabilitation program, which may affect water service, transit routes and road access in several neighbourhoods.

The work is expected to begin before the end of September and continue until the end of October.

In a news release, the city said the repairs are aimed at addressing aging infrastructure identified through CCTV inspections conducted in 2019 and 2023.

The work will include replacing damaged manholes, correcting sagging or collapsed sewer segments and reconstructing broken service connections.

Repairs will take place at various locations across the city, including the neighbourhoods of Shavers Bench, West Trail and Oak Street.

The nature of the work may result in temporary disruptions to water service, transit or road access at specific sites.

Residents will be notified in advance of any anticipated impacts.

Construction is scheduled Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., with no work planned for Sundays or statutory holidays unless approved by the city.
