BC Teachers' job action begins Wednesday

With bargaining going nowhere strike action starts Wednesday for BC Teachers although a Local Union President says this first phase is not the same as two years ago.

Andy Davidoff with the Kootenay Columbia Teachers Union says it’s purely administrative and students are in no way impacted.

Teachers will stop communicating with Principals and will not supervise students outside of class time.

Rotating strikes will follow if there’s no progress in bargaining.

Asked if he thought teachers would secure public sympathy, Davidoff says the Government has no credibility after a court found they tried to provoke strike action last time around.
