A 40-year-old Trail woman has caught some unwanted attention after she was seen driving across her neighbours lawn and later crashed into her own garage door on Sunday, July 27.
At 6:32 p.m., Trail and Greater District RCMP responded to a report that the woman, believed to be impaired, was driving her vehicle in the 3300 block of Highway Drive, in Trail, when she drove her vehicle across her neighbour’s lawn as she left her residence before heading onto Highway Drive.
When she returned home, her parking raised a lot of questions.
“They located the vehicle still crashed against the garage door. An officer spoke with the woman who was located outside of her residence. She allegedly admitted to being responsible for causing both reported incidents.” said Sgt Mike Wicentowich.
“An officer observed that the woman’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may have been impaired by alcohol. A demand was read to the woman who provide a sample of his breath which resulted in a fail.”
The 40-year-old Trail woman was issued a 90-Day driving suspention and the vehicle was impounded for up to 30 days.
“Owning an automatic garage door can have its ups and downs, I guess,” said Wicentowich.
