Power outage causes Teck dust release

Teck says a power outage was to blame for a big dust cloud released from its Trail smelter this morning.

But the company adds there was no fire and no safety risk.

Sirens could be heard mid-morning and a large plume of dust was seen over the operation, but it died down within a few hours.
