Crews contain Warfield wildfire

Fire and rescue responded to a wildfire burning close to homes located on Forest Drive on Warfield in Friday evening.

Around 6pm, fire crews from Warfield and Trail were on the scene of the blaze.

“Due to quick action, we were able to hold the fire and prevent it from reaching any structures. Crews dug fire guards and wet the area to ensure the fire was contained to the area of origin.” said Acting Captain Kyle Boutin.

The fire is currently under investigation.
