Water services restored near Rossland Ave in Trail

The City of Trail has restored water services in the area of Rossland Ave following Wednesday’s watermain break.

The break was identified Wednesday afternoon and left residents in the area without water from 2 p.m. to 7:30 am Thursday morning.

“Trail Public Works crews worked tirelessly through the night to complete the necessary repairs and restore service to the affected area,” said the City in a press release.

“This successful outcome is a direct result of the preparation, dedication, and professionalism of our Public Works team. We extend our sincere thanks to the crews who worked through the night to ensure the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure.”

As part of the repair process, crews had to mill up sections of pavement.

While the water is back on, the City warns that there may still be areas along Rossland Avenue where road conditions have changed.

Motorists should continue to drive with caution, watch for pedestrians, and be alert around work zones and signage.

Public Works crews are now focused on restocking supplies and preparing for any additional emergencies that may arise.

If you experience discoloured water or air in your pipes now that service has resumed, the City asks that you run your cold water taps for several minutes until the water runs clear.

“We thank all residents for their patience and cooperation during this emergency. Your understanding helps us respond quickly and effectively in times of need. Stay safe, and please continue to drive carefully in the area.”
