Castlegar seeks big Columbia Ave grant

The City of Castlegar will be applying for millions of dollars worth of grants for a major infrastructure upgrade to Columbia Avenue.

Castlegar will seek money through New Building Canada Fund that offers financial support through the Province and Feds.

Director of Civic Works and Transportation Chris Barlow says the $5.8 million project addresses a number of infrastructure needs and adds some exciting features to the stretch of road.

Castlegar is applying for nearly $3.6 million through the grant program.
