Travel for free this Earth Day with BC Transit in the West Kootenay

BC Transit is celebrating sustainability for Earth Day by inviting West Kootenay residents to travel for free on Tuesday April 22.

This includes providing free transit for both fixed-route and handyDART services.

By shifting to more environmentally sustainable modes of transportation, such as public transit, this can drastically reduce the number of single occupant vehicles on the road, reduces traffic, and helps achieve an overall reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

“BC Transit would like to thank the City of Nelson, City of Penticton, Regional District of Kootenay Boundary, Regional District of Central Kootenay and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission for their support of free transit on Earth Day.” said the BC Transit release.
